Installing Your Tankless Heater -
Where can I install my Titan?
The Titan can be installed right where your old heater used to be. A minimum of 12" clearance must exist from the top of the unit to the ceiling, and from bottom of unit to the floor.
As with all electric appliances, your Titan tankless water heater is designed to operate indoors, and must be protected from rain and weather elements.
Can I install the Titan myself?
Due to its electrical nature, it is recommended you hire a professional to install your Titan heater. Make sure you have the installation guide that came with your tankless water heater available when the installer arrives. The guide has information that will be necessary during installation.
Can I install the tankless water heater outside?
As with all electric appliances, your Titan tankless water heater is designed to operate indoors, and must be protected from rain and weather elements.
If you must install the tankless unit outside your home, it should at least have the same protection from the weather and the elements as it would indoors. We do not recommend installation outdoors, but if you must, you should consult with a professional in your local area.
Is the Titan easy to install?
The installation of the Titan is a straight-forward job. Most professional installers will be able to complete the job quickly and without incident.
Does the Titan need venting?
Installation of our tankless water heater is quick and easy, the Titan requires no venting.
Does the Titan need a pressure relief valve?
Installation of our tankless water heater is quick and easy. Under normal conditions, the Titan requires no pressure relief valve.
A pressure relief valve is called for ONLY when your plumbing uses plastic (PVC,PVX, etc) tubing. Please note, the pressure relief valve you install must have a rating that will protect your tubing. For instance, if your PVC piping is rated to 100 PSI, you must install a valve rated to protect your piping.
Specifically, the type of valve you need is a Pressure Relief Only valve. These valves do not have the long probe/thermostat found in T&P Relief valves most commonly used for tank water heater applications. (Temperature and Pressure).
My plumbing pipes use plastic/PVC piping. Can I use your Tankless heater?
Yes, you can use our tankless water heater with your plastic, PVC, PVX or any similar tubing material.
You must, however, use approximately 36 inches of copper tubbing between the tankless heater and your plastic tubing.
The copper tubing must be installed in the inlet and outlet side of the tankless water heater. This copper tubing will act as a buffer, isolating your platic tubing.
My pressure relief valve is adjustable. To what pressure should it be set?
You must set the pressure to that which is recommended by the manufacturer of your pipes. The pressure relief valve is there to protect your PVC/PVx/Plastic/Poly pipes. Again, please consult with the pressure rating set by the manufacturer of your pipes.

What are the power requirements: Breaker amp, wire size
- The breaker's amp rating will be determined by your unit's current draw (AMP consumption).
- The wire gauge size (AWG) will be determined by the breaker you will be using. That is, the wire must safely carry the current from breaker to your tankless water heater.
For instance, the SCR2 N-120 draws a maximum of 54 amps. Meaning, it will consume a maximum of 54 amps at peak power output, only as necessary. Our local codes (Miami, FL) call for the use of a 60 amp breaker, and a #6 AWG wire gauge.
Our aim is to provide you with a baseline, or reference point for our tankless water heaters' power requirements. Keep in mind that local building codes vary from one place to the next. You should always check your local building codes to make sure you are complying with the standards in your area.

Well water pump and Tankless Water Heaters -
I have hard / mineral water (hardwater). Can I still go tankless?
Our units are extremely resistant to hard/mineral water. The durable incoloy heating elements are housed inside rugged copper/brass chambers. The use of incoloy elements makes our tankless water heaters resistant to mineral deposits and hardwater (hard water) build up. Incoloy is an industrial-grade nickel-chromium heat-resistant alloy.
Incoly has excellent resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, carburization, to stress-corrosion cracking, and to localized attack such as pitting and crevice corrosion. The alloy maintains stable structure during exposure to high temperature, therefore incoloy is an ideal material to be used in our tankless heating elements.
Will the tankless water heater work with well water/well pump?
Our units work well with well-water systems. Pressure variations under 20 PSI are generally tolerated by the units. Keep in mind that water flow and pressure are the eyes and ears of ALL tankless units. This is what tells the unit how much power is required to heat your water.
Our units are designed to operate within a range of 5-150 PSI. It is recommended that your pump be set to run at 60- 80 PSI.
If your system's pressure fluctuates too much, there are a few things you can do to help stabilize the pressure output.
-
The pressure gauge on your pump should not allow the water pressure to vary more 20 PSI, if so, this may impair the operation of the tankless water heater.
-
Intalling a backflow preventer, if you don't already have one, is considered a must.
